Production

How a concert comes together.

The large amateur choir

  • 50 to 200+ local singers, recruited eight to twelve months before the concert, over two to four days of auditions.
  • Learning tracks sent to each section: sopranos, altos, tenors, basses.
  • Five full-day Sunday rehearsals, or weekday evenings.

The orchestra

  • From 35 to 90 musicians depending on the partner orchestra; smaller formats possible.
  • Three to four rehearsals, a pre-dress rehearsal with the choir, then the dress rehearsal.
  • Orchestral parts supplied one month ahead (the classical work is available for hire only).

On stage

  • A professional gospel choir of ten to sixteen singers.
  • A band: piano, Hammond B3 organ, bass, drums.
  • An internationally renowned guest artist, such as Kim Burrell in Fez and at Jazz à Vienne.
  • Conductor and arranger: Pascal Horecka.
